From Bangkok to Sangkhlaburi 9 Days 8 Nights

Today, we will take the whole day to explore Bangkok – the city of golden temples.
The first destination is the Grand Palace. This huge architecture complex is over 2 sq. kilometers, including 3 main sites: Royal Palace, Royal Office and pagodas (Wat) built in 1770s. Nowadays, the Grand Palace is no longer home of Thailand Royal, most of national significant events takes place there. Wat Phra Kaew is the most out-standing architecture in complex, built in 1785 when King Rama I moved the capital to Bangkok. The pagoda is famous not only for its beauty of unique Thailand Buddhism architecture but also for the sacred jade Buddha statue. 
Nearby Grand Palace is Wat Pho – the oldest and biggest pagoda in Bangkok with more than 1000 Buddha statues and the huge one sit-back Buddha in gold. This pagoda is also famous for being a birthplace of traditional Thai massage, since there is a traditional medicine school established in 1982, educating the arts of Thai massage. 
After having lunch on your own account, we visit the last destination of the day: Wat Traimit. This pagoda is famous for its unique and historic beauty, and also for the huge golden Buddha statue. Thai people believe that the statue represents for prosperity and purity, as well as strength and power. 
We will board on a boat to pay a visit along the Chao Phraya River, watching the life of local people close by. On route, we stop at Wat Arun, known as the most beautiful pagoda in Bangkok not only for its location on the Chao Phraya’s riverbank but also for the different architecture from other pagodas. The pagoda was decorated with glass pieces and Chinese ceramic, in a complicated style.
Return to the hotel and you are free to explore Bangkok by night.

Early in the morning, after having breakfast, we pay a visit to Meaklong Railway Market – a local market has grown up along the rail tracks. When a train pulls in or out of the station, the sellers quickly clear their stalls, and set them up again when the train has passed. We continue our way to Damnoen Saduak Floating market. Arrival at the market, you can see the vendors who wear traditional farmer dresses and hats bring local Thai foods, fruits and products to sell on rowing boats. You should not miss the opportunity to experience sitting and giving them a try on one of these boats on the canal. You are free to explore around the market, take photos/videos or even hire a paddling boat to breathe the once-in-a-lifetime atmosphere here. 
We then take a boat ride out of the floating market and journey along the winding canals to see remote villages, gardens and plantations. 
Arrive at a jetty pier where you board on the vehicle and proceed to Kanchanaburi.

Today morning, we visit the JEATH War Museum, which has the name standing for countries taking part in the World War II death railway construction from 1942 to 1945: Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland. As the name suggests, JEATH War Museum exhibits photographs and illustrations reflecting the living condition of prisoners of war during that cruel time, some of which were donated by former prisoners who survived after war. 

We then go to Kanchanaburi the famous Bridge over the River Kwai, the most important landmark of this city.

We continue boarding a train ride along the railway death, Railway enthusiasts can travel on one of the historic routes to Southeast Asia, the remaining part of the “Death railway”.

In the afternoon, we explore Wat Tham Suea – one of the famous temples in Kanchanaburi. You will see a beautiful Buddha statue from afar because in this temple, there is the largest Buddha statue in Kanchanaburi located. In addition to respecting the Buddha image, visitors also come here to respect the relics in Ketkaew Prasat Chedi

Located next to Wat Tham Suea, Wat Tham Khao Noi is a sacred Anam-Nigaya Buddhist temple located near the top of a hill. The temple is famous for Chinese-influenced architecture seen from stupas, mission rooms and surrounding buildings. The rooftop terrace on the highest platform also gives you a panoramic view of the small town Tha Muang.

Start a day with visiting to Wat Tham Phu Wa, which is not only famous for as meditation retreat pleace, the temple also has a unique architecture influenced by Khmer and Lop Buri art as well as beautiful stalactites inside the cave where Buddha statue is revered.
Continue to Ban Kao National Museum. It was constructed beside a Neolithic burial site discovered by an Allied POW during the construction of the ‘Death Railway’. The museum houses skeletal remains, pots, axe heads, jewelry made from animal bones, and other artefacts dating 4000 years ago. 
With impressive architecture and beautiful green scenery, bustling shops, Mueang Sing Historical Park will be an interesting destination for you. On the campus, there is a main structure called Prasat Muang Sing (Tower of the Lion City), which is also the most prominent of this place. There are also ruins of two Khmer temples dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries. This place was officially declared a historical park in 1987 due to the traces of the glorious past where this ever has.
We also pass through Krasae Cave – a place for prisoner of war to take a rest when it was located next to the Death Railway. Now it is a popular place for visitors to walk on the railway and will stop to pray for a Buddha image kept in the cave.

Today morning, we proceed to Sai Yok National Park. The park is a popular destination for local and foreign tourists, known for its waterfalls, caves, historical sites and raft houses along the River Kwai.
Elephant Haven (Join-in) (Half day – from 12:00 to 15:00) is located in the beautiful Sai Yok National Park region. This project has brought 7 elephants to freedom and your visit will support the camp to provide the best possible care for their herd.
Now the herd has the freedom to roam, socialize, enjoy a mud bath and cool down in the river Kwai which runs through our project. In this beautiful setting you can observe the elephants’ behavior and learn more about their complex social structure.
After a safety briefing on arrival at the project, you will prepare food for the elephants and then given the opportunity of meeting and getting to know the elephants whilst feeding them. Walk to the forest with the elephant to learn about elephant information.
After lunch, watch them enjoy playing in a mud pit. With no riding, walk with the elephants to the river and bathe the elephants.
Returning to your hotel then you are free to relax.

After your breakfast, we check out room and go to visit Hellfire Pass, which is a part of the Death Railway that was brutally built by war prisoners during World War II. They used hand-held drills, hoes and shovels to carve stones through mountains so that a train could pass. The 500 meter pass was amazingly completed for six months in 1943, with many lives sacrificed. The pass is no longer used and it becomes a museum to display related tools and images of historical events.
Next, we pass through Wat Tha Kha Nun. The golden stupa is sparkling on the hill, seemingly floating on the town at night, can be reached through 285 steps on the south side of the hill. The scenery is even larger on the highway where a 1222-step metal staircase leads to a small natural Buddha footprint covered in gold leaves. The peak is marked with a yellow Thai Buddhist flag.
Arrival in Sangkhlaburi, check in room for overnight. 
Sangkhlaburi town is a great tourist destination with beautiful tranquil spaces to visit, home to many ethnic groups like Karen, Mon and Laos, Myanmar and Thai people. Most people are born and raised here, but there are also many people from across the border of Myanmar who desires a safer life, doing better than their homeland.

Today morning, we driver northward to visit Three Pagodas Pass. This is a hilly trail in Thailand and Myanmar borders. The road connects Sangkhla Buri town of Kanchanaburi province, Thailand and Payathonsu town of Kayin State, Myanmar. The road is named after placing 3 small Chedis tower temples, which can be built at the end of the Ayuthaya period as a symbol of peace.
Back to the town, we go to see The Mon bridge or “Saphan Mon” – the Thailand’s longest wooden bridge and the second longest in the world measuring over 400 meters long. The handmade footbridge constructed in the 1980’s spans the Song Kalia river to the Mon village. The village’s main attractions are Wat Wang Wiwekaram temple and the market, where visitors can sample Mon food and buy handmade Mon products.
On the lake, The Sunken Temple is now only visible with the top. At the end of the dry season when the water level is lower, you can walk around the temple’s ruins. You also can join an 1-hour boat trip across the lake.
We also pass through Wat Wang Wiwekaram. This is the most important and revered Buddhist temple in Sangkhla Bur district, where Thai and Mon people live peacefully. The temple was built to replace the former temple currently under water.
We back to Kanchanaburi for overnight.
